The Afghan political system ios the problem. It needs to be changed. There are no real checks and balances.

Imagine for second if all the governors of the states which make up the US were directly appointed by the President.

Imagine that that State authorities had no right to spend any of the money collected in Taxes within its territory - and just had to sent everything to the capital - as if was a vasal.

Imagine that the President gave no attension to the Congress - even if the Congress had voted to remove the Secretary of State.

Imagine that the President appointed the whole of the Supreme Court and used it to override the decisions of the Congress.

Imagine that the President viewed the majority of the citizens of his country as worthless and not of his tribe and race - hence he could do what he wants with them.

Worst of all, imagine that the President could appoint all the memebers of an 'Independent' Election commission charged with sorting the next election.

I could go on and on. It is a virtual dictatorship.

The Karzai regime - the over centralized system of government - the prevention of political parties participating in the Parliament and so on - is bleeding the people - destroying them.

All whom associate with that regime will be tainted and all of the actions will go to waste.
